The Last Resort
Project info

Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands has for many years being an island we visit regularly. It is such a chilled out place and the big attraction for us is the fact, like Ireland it is an island. However, from a landscape and weather perspective it is the polar opposite.

Like the other European peripheral countries , it was hit hard during the financial crisis over ten years ago. Remnants of this crash are still visible on the outskirts of the town. I am drawn to dereliction and buildings that once were, or in this case that never were.

And even now as the Covid pandemic eases and tourism returns, you can still find plenty of solitude on this chilled out space.
